- Appointment Policy
We see office visits by appointment but walk-ins are also welcome. We see pets in the following order:
- Emergencies
- Appointments
- Walk-ins
- Pre-Surgical Policy
Do not give your pet food or treats after 8 p.m. the night before the surgery or X-rays. Remove water the morning of surgery.
All dogs must have the following:
- Rabies vaccine
- Distemper-Parvovirus vaccine
- Heartworm test within the past 12 months (if your dog is taking preventatives) or within the past 3 months (if your dog is not taking preventatives)
- Physical exam within the past 6 months by one of our doctors.
All dogs will have a complete blood count checked and receive analgesia (medication for pain) before the surgery. Dogs over the age of 7 (over the age of 5 for giant breeds) will also have blood chemistries checked and receive IV fluids.
All cats must have the following:
- Rabies vaccine
- Feline Distemper-Rhinotracheitis-Calicivirus vaccine
- Feline leukemia test
- Physical exam within the past 6 months by one of our doctors.
All cats will have a complete blood count checked and receive analgesia (medication for pain) before the surgery. Cats over the age of 7 will also have blood chemistries checked and receive IV fluids.
- Overnight Patients
We do not provide 24 hour care. We believe that most non-critical pets are happier at home in their familiar surroundings. If we think your pet needs additional attention and care, we will refer you to an after-hours emergency facility.
